FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO MAY BE INVITED TO JOIN
Any professional or business man or woman from the Georgetown/Millsboro area may be proposed for membership if they are in a discretionary position of leadership with a recognized business or profession. The variety of occupations represented by the members ensures interesting fellowship at meetings. Every member is assigned to at least one committee and is expected to actively contribute. All active and honorary members are encouraged to propose new members who meet the above qualifications.WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN ROTARY?
Dues and meal costs are subject to change, so please ask the Rotarian proposing you for membership about current rates. Annual Club, District and R.I. dues are $130, billed quarterly. The weekly meal fee is currently $12 for a hearty lunch, great fellowship and interesting speakers. You'll also want to have a couple of bucks in your pocket each week for the 50/50 drawing and good-natured fines (late arrival, cell phone ringing, etc.) that support Bernie's Baskets, our holiday food for the needy project. The most important cost is your time. The Georgetown-Millsboro Rotary Club has high expectations for meeting attendance and expects every member to attend or make-up at least 75% of the weekly meetings. When you know in advance you will be unable to attend or make-up a meeting, please request an excused absence from Treasurer Ernie Megee.
